Bournville Blues had to settle for a losing bonus point in a 26-20 defeat by Claverdon at Ossetts Hole Lane in Counties Two Midlands West (East).
The postponement of the first XV’s Regional One Midlands match at Drybrook meant that the Blues were reinforced with the late inclusions of Stephen Terera, Oscar Fawkes-Underwood and George Jewell but Claverdon completed a treble having won at Avery Fields earlier in the season and in a friendly in August.
Jewell made his presence felt by scoring one of the Blues tries with hooker Ben Harper and flanker Ollie Morris also crossing. Fawkes-Underwood landed a penalty and a conversion on his debut for the Blues.
