Murphy returns for Camborne’s first visit to Avery Fields

Bournville welcome back lock Nick Murphy as one of three changes to the starting XV for Saturday’s Midlands Two West match against Camborne at Avery Fields (2.30pm).

Murphy scored two tries in the victory over Newport three weeks ago but was unavailable for last Saturday’s defeat at title-chasing Dings Crusaders.

He returns this week and renews his second-row partnership with Ben Meakin which allows Ben O’Sullivan to switch to the back-row.

O’Sullivan will start at openside flanker this week with Chris Idehen moving across the back-row to number eight in place of Jonjo Fanning who has been named among the replacements.

Ollie Stone, who came off the bench at Dings, starts at hooker this week in a swap with James Weaver and the other change is in the centre with Josh Bloomfield partnering Sam Grimshaw.

Bloomfield replaces Rhys Williams, who has been named as a replacement this week, with Alex Grove, who is unavailable, dropping out of the matchday squad.

Grove’s absence means a recall for Mark Coulson who has not featured in the senior squad since the victory over Dudley Kingswinford in round two back in September.

Prop Kurtis Payne also returns to the squad as a replacement having been unavailable last weekend.

Camborne will be making their first-ever visit to Avery Fields having edged a 29-24 win in the first fixture between the clubs at Crane Park in November.

Camborne returned to the National Leagues this season after a 27-year absence and have quickly re-established themselves winning 11 of their first 21 matches to settle in the top half of the table.

They were beaten at home by Luctonians last Saturday but have won three times of their travels, all against the clubs closest to Bournville in the league table – Newport, Dudley Kingswinford and Hornets – as well as drawing in the Cornish derby at Redruth.

In addition to the action on the pitch at Avery Fields on Saturday the final round of matches in the Guinness Six Nations will be screened live in the clubhouse throughout the day.
