Esiri stars in Blues win

Wing Aaron Esiri continued his prolific start to the season as Bournville Blues banked a third straight bonus point win with a 45-7 success over Droitwich at Hanbury Road in Counties Two Midlands West (East).

Esiri, who is in his second spell at Avery Fields, scored four tries for the second time in three matches despite miserable weather conditions of driving rain and a strong wind.

Esiri scored once before the break and three times in the second-half with left wing Louis Stival also getting on the scoresheet.

There was a try for first team captain Ben Meakin, who led the Blues having missed last week’s National Two West defeat at Luctonians, with fly-half Harry Housley contributing 15 points with a try and five conversions.

The win lifted the Blues to fifth place in the table, just three points behind second placed Birmingham & Solihull, with the side immediatey above them, Harbury, due at Avery Fields next Saturday.
