Avery Fields has again received top marks for providing the highest standards in food hygiene with a renewed five-star rating.
Inspectors from the Food Standards Agency made an unannounced visit to Avery Fields on a particularly busy matchday when both Bournville’s first and second teams were at home and again awarded the highest rating.
“As a team we always aim to provide the highest standards at Avery Fields. Maintaining our five stars is a real achievement and I am very proud of the team,” said Marie-Louise Blunn, General Manager at Avery Fields.
As well as being home to all of Bournville’s rugby sections, Avery Fields also hosts a wide range of activities under the auspices of the Avery Fields Community Foundation, provides sports facilities for University College Birmingham and is widely used for events by the local community in the Edgbaston, Harborne and Bearwood areas.
The FSA’s Food Hygiene Rating assesses compliance with food hygiene laws in a number of areas including: handling of food, how food is stored, how food is prepared, cleanliness of facilities and how food safety is managed.
