There’s more to come from Bournville says Price

Head Coach Matt Price believes that there is more to come from his Bournville side after a promising start to their National Two West season.

Bournville’s players will enjoy a well-earned rest this week as the league takes a break after a opening bloc of eight matches.

Bournville currently sit mid-table in eighth having won four and lost four of their matches but they were in the top six until they surrendered their unbeaten home record against leaders Camborne last week.

Bournville return to action on November 9 with a trip to Exeter University, seeking their first away win of the season and with Price aiming for more consistency from the side.

“In terms of our league position I am happy with where we are but with everything else I still think there is more to come from us,” Price said.

“It has been pretty much a rollercoaster ride. We have had some great performances in this first bloc and some performances where we have been left scratching our heads.

“What we have got to do is get some consistency and be comfortable playing with the ball for long periods of play. Once we get that we will be a tough side to play against.

“Whether we are at home or away we have to go and do what we want to do and not worry too much about what other sides can do to us.

“We know that if we get our plays correct and our set-piece correct we are a tough side to break down and beat and that’s what we want to be.”

The week-off will give Bournville players the chance to rest some battered and cruised bodies with wing Dan Rundle, who suffered a recurrence of a calf problem in Saturday’s victory over Hinckley, among those who have been injured in the first two months of the season.
