Bournville flanker Louis Mifsud will win his second international cap for Malta as a starter in Saturday’s Rugby Europe Conference match against Cyprus in Paola.
Mifsud played the full 80 minutes when he made his international debut in the 24-14 win over Cyprus in Limassol at the end of last season and has been named at openside flanker for the return match at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.
Mifsud’s second cap comes a little later than expected as Malta were due to play home and away matches against Israel in the Conference over the summer but both were cancelled due to the security situation in Israel.
Mifsud, who qualifies to play for Malta through his paternal grandparents, is one of several UK-based players in the squad.
