Bournville are again supporting the B30 and South Birmingham Foodbank with a collection of much-needed items for Christmas
.
Last year members, supporters and players from all sections of the club donated 146.4kg of food to help local people in crisis and the aim is to be beat that amount this year.
A donation point has been set up in the clubhouse at Avery Fields where items can be left starting at this weekend’s National Two West match against Old Redcliffians and ending on Sunday December 15.
“The response to our first collection for the Birmingham B30 Foodbank from all sections of the club was outstanding, but the number of people requiring emergency food supplies in our local community has increased again this year,” said Phil Maynard, Bournville’s Managing Director.
“So we are again asking players, staff and supporters to think about those who are less fortunate than themselves and donate some of the much-needed items below to help make Christmas a little more enjoyable for those in crisis.”
The non-perishable items most needed by the B30 and South Birmingham Foodbank are:
• tinned ham
• tinned salmon
• tinned rice pudding
• alcohol-free Christmas pudding
• tinned peas
• tinned carrots
• UHT whole milk
• tinned spaghetti
