Flying wings Nathan Decalmer, Alex Evans and Will Aylen and full-back Owen Williams have re-signed with Bournville for the 2024/25 National Two West campaign.
Decalmer was a stand-out performer in the 2023/24 season as he made an impressive transition from Telford Hornets, four levels lower in the league pyramid.
Decalmer’s pace and power brought him 19 tries to make him joint fourth in the league’s try table and his performances were recognised with his inclusion in both the league’s and The Rugby Paper’s National Two West Team of the Season XVs.
Evans, like Decalmer, featured in all 16 league matches in his first season at Avery Fields having joined from Manchester club Burnage 12 months ago.
He quickly formed a dangerous wing partnership with Decalmer and Bournville were quick to secure their services for next season with other clubs alerted to their talent.
Aylen arrived at Avery Fields at the start of the season from Luctonians, where he had progressed from the Colts section to their Second XV who compete in the Midlands leagues.
He has also played regularly for the Lions on the English sevens circuit and impressed as a strong and powerful runner in his 14 appearances for Bournville.
Williams has been a key member of Bournville’s rise from the Midlands leagues to become an established National Leagues club.
He joined from Stourbridge Lions in 2018 and was part of the side that won promotion to the National Leagues for the first time two years later.
He has become a reassuring presence in defence, a long-striding and dangerous attacking player and an outstanding club man.
Williams has made 87 senior appearances so far.
