Malta international Louis Mifsud and his fellow back-row forwards Chris Idehen, Lewis Hall and Jonjo Fanning have re-signed with Bournville for the 2024/25 season.
Mifsud became just the second player to be capped while with Bournville when he made his debut for Malta in their recent European Championship victory over Cyprus in Limassol.
The call-up by the country capped an excellent first season with Bournville for Mifsud following his move from Stourbridge 12 months ago.
Idehen was also a new arrival from Broadstreet in the summer of 2023 and was quick to make his presence felt at Avery Fields with some aggressive ball carrying and tireless work in defence and at the breakdown.
Idehen’s leadership qualities were also recognised when he was appointed first team captain in November, succeeding Ryan Smeilus in the role.
Hall joined Bournville from Coventry club Barkers’ Butts two years ago and has signed up for his third season with Bournville having made 12 appearances in Bournville’s best-ever National Leagues season.
Fanning is in his second spell with Bournville, broken only by a season playing for Northamptonshire club Bugbrooke.
He returned to Avery Fields in 2020 and has been a model of consistency since then as a strong and effective ball carrier and a regular try scorer from the back of the scrum.
Mifsud, Idehen, Hall and Fanning take the number of confirmed re-signings from the current squad at Bournville to 16 with further announcements to follow.
