Alex Lilly set to join Golds exclusive club

Back-row forward Alex Lilly is set to become the latest Bournville Golds player to join an exclusive club.

Sunday’s NC Two Midlands (West) against Telford Hornets at Avery Fields (2pm) will be Lilly’s 25th appearance for the Golds in competitive rugby for which she will be presented with a special commemorative pin badge.

The badges were introduced this season to recognise those players who have reached the milestone of 25 league appearances for the Golds, with Lilly set to become the 12th recipient.

Front-row forward Emma Turner who heads the appearance table with 51 having become the first Golds player to reach a half-century of appearances against Stafford recently.

Turner is closely followed in the appearance table by back-row Emily Brindley (47) and centre Naomi Gardner (42).

The other players to have been presented with their commemorative pin badges this season are: lock Ellie Williams (37), back-row ‘Frag’ Clifford (37), lock Heather Rogers (34), lock Louise Hale (29), centre Kyra Tynan (27), centre and team manager Sheri Riley (27), fly-half Jude Clayton (26) and front-row ‘Dobby’ Farrell (25).
