Ho and Terera stick with Bourns

Wings Mikey Ho and Stephen Terera have signed up with Bournville for the club’s return to National Leagues rugby.

Ho was one of the key performers in helping Bourns win the Regional One Midlands title and is in his second spell at Avery Fields following a season back with his first club, Old Saltleians.

His versatility in being able to play at full-back or centre has made Ho a particularly valuable member of the squad and Head Coach Alex Grove is delighted to have retained his services.

“Mikey is someone who has performed very well for us in a number of positions across the backline. He can cover centre full back or wing equally well,” Grove said.

“His running threat is his strength and his broken field attack is where he comes to life. He offers us something a little bit different there.”

Terera has yet to make his senior debut for Bourns but came close to doing so at Drybrook in the promotion-winning campaign only for the match to be postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

He had staked his claim for inclusion with some eye-catching performances for Bournville Blues in Counties Two Midlands West (East) and Grove hopes for more of the same next season.

“Stephen was a bit unlucky not to feature for the first team last season,” Grove said. “He got very close and put together a number of very strong performances for the Blues and, if he continues to do that, he will be rewarded.”

Terera, a Zimbabwe Under-20s international, joined Bourns last season after previous stints with Weston Super Mare and West Bridgford and can also cover full-back, centre and fly-half.
