Hurricanes provide the summer entertainment at Avery Fields

The rugby union season may have finished but there is still plenty of activity on the pitch at Avery Fields over the summer.

Our sporting partners Midlands Hurricanes, the semi-professional rugby league club, have eight scheduled home matches before the end of August including a mouthwatering semi-final in the 1895 Cup against unbeaten Betfred Championship leaders London Broncos on Saturday June 13 (2pm).

The cup tie is the second of three successive home games for the Hurricanes starting with the visit of Whitehaven for a Championship match on Saturday June 6 (2pm) with Swinton Lions rounding off the month on Saturday June 20 (1pm).

The remaining Hurricanes matches are all on Sundays with Rochdale Hornets making their first visit to Avery Fields on July 19 and London Broncos back on July 26.

There are three matches in August to round off a busy summer with Keighley Cougars (August 2), Workington  Town (August 9) and North Wales Crusaders (August 30) following in quick succession.

All matches in July and August are scheduled to have 2pm kick-offs.

Full Bournville members have free admission to Hurricanes home matches on production of their membership card.
