CJ leaves Bournville

Forwards Coach CJ Osazuwa has left Bournville by mutual consent.

The former Nigeria international joined the coaching team at Avery Fields from Dudley Kingswinford 12 months ago and, in a successful partnership with Head Coach Alex Grove, helped to guide the club to the Regional One Midlands title and an immediate return to the National Leagues.

His appointment as Head of Community at Worcester Warriors partway through the season placed increased demands on Osazuwa’s time. With four additional league matches and greater travelling distances following promotion to National Two West next season, those pressures were only likely to increase.

“I would like to thank CJ for his contribution to the club over the last year,” Grove said.

“CJ settled in well during pre-season and quickly became a popular member of the club.

“Due to CJ’s increased work commitments with Worcester Warriors it would have been difficult for him to commit to a season in the National Leagues which will see us play more matches with considerably more travel to away games.

“We wish CJ all the best in his coaching journey moving forwards.”
