Ten members of Bournville’s Regional One Midlands-winning squad will feature in North Midlands’ opening match in this season’s Bill Beaumont County Championship Division Two against East Midlands at Worcester RFC on Sunday (2pm).
Club captain Ben Meakin will start for the county alongside loosehead prop Scott Rudge, openside flanker Adam Shaw, number eight Callum Nicholls, fly-half Jacob Fewtrell and wings Mike Ho and Mauro Miller.
Hooker Ben Rhodes, tighthead prop Jake Thompson and scrum-half Reiss Price complete the strong Bourns contingent as replacements.
The Bournville contingent is the largest provided by one club to the North Midlands squad with Bromsgrove (nine), Newport (three) and Luctonians (one) supplying the remainder.
Bournville also have two members of North Midlands’ off-field team in lead physio Will James and forwards coach CJ Osazuwa.
North Midlands also play Staffordshire at Stafford on Saturday May 16 and Hertfordshire at Droitwich on Saturday May 23 in their Pool Two programme.
