Two members of Bournville’s Colts team have won selection for this season’s North Midlands Under-18s squad.
Hooker Sam Barnickle and lock/blindside flanker George Bann secured their places after impressing for Greater Birmingham in last Wednesday’s North Midlands trials at Stourbridge and took part in the first training session on Sunday at Kidderminster Carolians.
Further training sessions will take place at Kidderminster on November 2 and Dudley Kingswinford on November 17 ahead of the first of three Super Sunday tournaments at Stourbridge on November 23.
The second Super Sunday event is at Leicester Forest on December 7 and at Warwick School on December 21.
Barnickle and Bann are both products of Bournville’s successful Player Development Pathway programme under the tutelage of Matt Mirecki with Bann having recently made his debut for Bournville Blues, the club’s Second XV, in Counties Two Midlands West (East).
