Bournville have re-signed backs Mikey Ho and Sam Grimshaw as their retainment policy ahead of the 2025/26 season continues.
Ho returned to Avery Fields last season after brief stint back with his first club, Old Saltleians, and made 18 appearances across the first team and Blues.
He played an important part in helping the Blues to win promotion in their first season in the RFU Leagues and rounded off the season with a try in the first XV’s last day victory at Devonport Services.
“I’m delighted Mikey is staying for next season,” said Head Coach Alex Grove. “He’s a proper club man. He’s bought into the Blues when called upon and made some huge contributions for them at the end of the season.
“Equally he really proved what he is capable of in his performance for the first team at Devonport Services in the last match of the season He put in a Player of the Match performance from outside centre and I’m looking forward to seeing more of the same next season.”
Grimshaw, who has recently returned from representing the Penguins on their Italian tour, also made some telling contributions for the Blues in mid-season when he as coming back from injury.
The centre played his formative rugby for Sutton Coldfield but joined Bournville from Gloucestershire club Drybrook and has become a crowd favourite with the Avery Fields faithful.
“Grimmy is a player who always seems to make something positive happen in attack,” Grove said.
“He’s never far away from a try, whether scoring himself of assisting others.”
