Bournville Head Coach Matt Price has warned his players that they could be facing another pointless exercise when they make the trip to Mortimer Park to face Luctonians in Saturday’s National Two West match.
Bournville’s last two visits to Luctonians’ Herefordshire outpost have seen them ship 74 points without scoring anything in reply and Price fears that it could again be another long and unrewarding afternoon for his side.
“Luctonians were runners-up last season and they are going well again this season,” Price said.
“They are a particularly difficult side to break down at home and Taunton are the only side to get the better of them on their own patch this season.
“So, it’s a really tough assignment for us particularly as we haven’t scored a point there in the last two seasons.
“We haven’t won away all season and the snow that we have had this week won’t help us either so we are anticipating another difficult day on the road.
“We have quite a few players carrying knocks that need to rest so this could be the opportunity for us to do that and freshen things up a bit.
“We need to be more clinical in our finishing than we were against Old Redcliffians but we will go there and give it a good crack. If we can come away without having embarrassed ourselves that will be a positive.”
This week’s team selection has been delayed due to the injury situation and the snow which severely disrupted affected the squad’s training schedule.
