Murphy named in strong Blues side

Lock Nick Murphy will have his first outing ahead of the new season for Bournville Blues against Birmingham & Solihull at Avery Fields on Saturday (2.30pm).

Murphy was unavailable for the three first team warm-up matches against Bromsgrove, Bridgend Ravens and Sheffield Tigers but he returns to action for the Blues who are preparing for their historic first match in the RFU league structure at Woodrush next Friday.

Murphy is joined in a strong Blues team by prop Stef Thorp, who has recovered from an eye injury sustained against Bridgend, centre Mike Ho and fly-half Joe Nellany, who both impressed in the win at Sheffield Tigers last week, and full-back Josh Tutt and wing Dallas Ororo, two of the club’s summer recruits.
