Bournville have added to their front row depth by signing experienced hooker Ben Rhodes.
Rhodes arrives at Avery Fields from Welsh Premiership club Merthyr, where he spent the second half of the 2023/24 season, but most of his rugby has been played in this area.
He started out with Worcester Wanderers and then joined Dudley Kingswinford in 2021 and was captain in 2022/23 when they won promotion to National Two West.
Rhodes began the 2023/24 season with DK and played for them in their defeat by Bournville at Avery Fields in September.
He joined Merthyr the following month but will be back in the West Midlands next season as a member of Bournville’s squad.
“Ben has been a leading local hooker for the last few seasons,” said Director of Rugby Paul Sumner.
“He will provide real depth and competition to our existing players. We have no doubt that Ben will make an impact next season.”
Rhodes won representative honours with North Midlands while he was with DK and with the county’s Under-20s side when he was at Worcester.
He is the second new recruit announced by Bournville, joining his former DK front row colleague, tighthead prop Chad Thorne, at Avery Fields.
