Bournville Colts pair Sam Barnickle and George Bann helped Greater Birmingham Under-18s to win this season’s Houghton Harries Shield.
Hooker Barnickle and lock/blindside flanker Bann featured in the 32-19 victory over Herefordshire at Bromyard and again in the title decider against Worcestershire at Edwardians.
Barnickle scored one of Greater Birmingham’s tries against Worcestershire to help secure the Shield which is played alongside North Midlands’ senior Domestic Unions competitions.
Both Barnickle and Bann have already represented North Midlands Under-18s this season and made their senior debuts for Bournville Blues in their Counties Two Midlands West (East) campaign having progressed through the club’s Pathway Programme.
