Bournville spread some Christmas cheer

Bournville have been helping to spread a little cheer with the donation of food and other essential items to the B30 and South Birmingham Foodbank.

The items were donated over a three-week period and delivered to the Foodbank’s warehouse in Kings Norton in time for them to be distributed to those most in need before Christmas.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters, players, staff and visitors to Avery Fields, Bournville were able to fill two large tubs provided by the Foodbank when club Managing Director Phil Maynard delivered the items that had been donated.

“A big thank you to everyone who made a donation. We were delighted by the response to what was a whole club effort,” said Maynard.

“We already do a lot of excellent work in the community through the Avery Fields Community Foundation and Community Group but this was the first time that we have linked up with the B30 Foodbank.

“The Foodbank is an entirely voluntary organisation which relies on donations from the local community to support those in need.

“The Foodbank organisers were very appreciative of the many donations from the club which will help to make Christmas a little happier for the 13,700 people that the Foodbank feeds in and around south Birmingham.”

You can continue to support B30 and South Birmingham Foodbank and help families in need by donating online or by volunteering.
